HALLOWEEN HAPPENINGS

ENDS 10/28- Zion Lutheran Church will have a Fall Family Pumpkin Party on Friday, October 28 from 6:30p-8p at the church at 413 Ave D  East in Bismarck. Free fun carnival games, inflatable jump houses and prizes.

ENDS 10/28- Sterling Elementary Halloween Carnival will be held at the Sterling School on Friday, October 28 from 6:30p-8:30p. Games for the family, silent auction, costume contest and more.

ENDS 10/29- Frances Leach High Prairie Arts and Science Complex will hold a “Haunting Arts and Spooktacular Science” event on Saturday, October 29 from 12:30p-4:30p at the complex. Experience spooky hands on science experiments, create a monster magnet and enjoy a ghoulish treat. Proceeds will benefit future programming for the complex. Log onto www.highprairiecomplex.com

ENDS 10/29- the FOP Halloween Monster Dash Run will be held on Saturday, October 29 at Cottonwood Park in Bismarck. Participate in a 5k run/walk or a 10k run. Children can participate in a ½ mile run. To register log onto www.monsterdashrun.org  Proceeds will benefit the Cops and Kids and Christmas in the Hospital events that local law enforcement officers host yearly.

ENDS 10/29- Prairie Rose Elementary Haunted House and Carnival will be held on Saturday, October 29 from 4:30p-8p at the school at 2200 Oahe Bend in Bismarck. Enjoy the haunted house, carnival games, silent auction and general auction.

ENDS 10/31- The 10th Anniversary Horror on Harmon will be held on Sunday, October 31 at 1408 Harmon Ave in Bismarck. Most ages are welcome from 6p-7p. Ages 12 and over welcomed after 7p. Free will donation will benefit the Girl Scouts-Dakota Horizon.

ENDS 10/27- St Vincent’s Oktoberfest 2011 will be held at the Bismarck Eagles Club on Thursday, October 27 from 7p-10p. Enjoy a silent auction, beer tasting, music from the Little Bohemian Band, German food and more.  Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at St Vincent’s or the Bismarck Eagles Club. Proceeds will benefit St Vincent’s Care Center projects.

ENDS 10/27- The 14th Annual Bismarck Mandan Red Ribbon Carnival will be held on Thursday, October 27 from 4p-8p in the National Guard Raymond J Bohn Armory at 4200 East Divide Ave in Bismarck. The red ribbon signifies opposition to drugs and alcohol. All area elementary students are invited to enjoy games, food and fun. Bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to Community Action.

ENDS 10/28- Mark Schultz will perform on Friday, October 28 at the Belle Mehus Auditorium in Bismarck at 7:30p. Tickets are available at Dan’s Supermarkets and the Rainbow Shop. Proceeds will benefit Welcome House. Log onto www.welcome-house.net for more information.

ENDS 10/28- 52nd Annual Buffalo Supper will be held in Streeter Memorial Hall in Streeter on Friday, October 28 beginning at 4:30p. Tickets will be available at the door.

ENDS 10/29- Market Place of Ideas featuring over 30 workshops on beginning and growing a business will be held on Saturday, October 29 on the BSC Campus in Bismarck. Cost is $20 per person and students are free. Log onto www.marketplaceofideas.org for more information

ENDS 10/29- Faith Lutheran Church will hold a bazaar on Saturday, October 29 from 9a-2p. Homemade items such as quilts, crafts, baked goods and more for sale at the church at 1402 Ave C East Bismarck.

ENDS 11/1- Missouri Valley Family YMCA will host a series of free financial planning seminars on Tuesday, November 1 at 10:30a and Thursday, November 3 at 6:30p that will provide information and guidance for planning a financial future. Log onto www.bismarckymca.org

ENDS 11/1- The God’s Child Project will hold a 20th Anniversary Luncheon from 12n-1p at the Bismarck Radisson. Hear how this small Bismarck charity has grown into a international leader for the less fortunate. Log onto www.godschild.org

ENDS 11/30- The 82nd annual Open Your Heart campaign is accepting applications for assistance from families in need and can be picked up at the Salvation Army at 601 South Washington Street or at the Community Action Program at 2105 Lee Ave in Bismarck.
