Made my way around the country from the twincities to Mississipi back up to Fargo where I was the last 7 years until May when I knew it was time to come back home to the beautiful capital city!
I love different types of music but my main preference is rock & country. How could I not love country music? I grew up listening to Marty Robbins & Willie Nelson thanks to mom & dad!
Last night's, Healing in the Heartland: Benefit Concert, was a moving and yet inspirational concert that showed people truly care for one another in our great country! Loved it!! Hope you had a chance to catch it either on KQ 94.5, iheart radio or NBC.
Blake Shelton, as well as other musical celebrities including wife, Miranda Lambert, Reba McEntire, Ryan Tedder, Darius Rucker, Usher, Rascal Flatts and Luke Bryan came together for Healing in the Heartland...a benefit (organized by Blake) to raise funds for victims of the tornado that struck Oklahoma on May 20.
Miranda Lambert sang her hit, “The House That Built Me,” live from the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, and broadcast live on NBC. At one point during the song, Miranda had to take a moment away from the microphone to regain her composure. At the end of the song, Miranda mouthed “Sorry” to the crowd, adding, “I love you Oklahoma.”
Those who want to donate can visit the “Healing In The Heartland” Facebook page, text REBUILD to 52000 to make a one-time $10 donation, or call 1-800-890-4999.
